Julie joined Cowen Schwarz Marschke (formerly Tucker & Cowen) in June 2022 as an Associate. Julie completed her Bachelor of Laws and Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at Bond University. She was admitted to the legal profession in October 2014 and has spent several years at boutique and national commercial firms in Brisbane as well as in-house as legal counsel.

Julie practises in all aspects of property including residential, commercial, rural and industrial property. She specialises in acquisitions and disposals of commercial, residential and rural properties, undertaking legal due diligence, property development focusing on residential land subdivisions including high volume conveyancing, mortgagee/receiver distressed asset disposals as well as drafting and negotiating lease documentation for landlords and tenants of retail, commercial, industrial and rural properties.

Julie has acted for a broad range of clients including national property developers, ASX-listed investment managers, Australian financial institutions, not-for-profit entities, State government authorities and high net worth individuals.

Professional experience

Brittany joined Cowen Schwarz Marschke (formerly Tucker & Cowen) in February 2020, having previously worked as an Associate to a District Court Judge, and was appointed an Associate of the firm in February 2023.

Brittany graduated from the University of Queensland in 2019 with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Arts (International Relations). She completed a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice with The Australian National University and was admitted to the legal profession in August 2019.

Brittany has acted on a number of complex and significant commercial litigation and insolvency matters, for a broad range of clients including companies, insolvency practitioners, directors, shareholders and individuals.

Brittany is also a committee member on the Australian Restructuring Insolvency & Turnaround Association (ARITA) Queensland Young Professionals Committee
